Kendal Town Ladies and Abbeytown Women battled it out in the first ever 'play off' in the Cumbria Women's League.

After being 1-0 down going into the closing minutes in a hard fought and entertaining final, Kendal Town equalised to force the tie into extra-time.

Kendal Town scored again to beat last years league champions Abbeytown 2-1.

This season went down to the last fixture, with 3 teams still able to win the league (or tie to set up a championship play off).

Cumbria Women's League would like to congratulate Kendal Town for winning the title and wish them all the best in the North West Women's Regional League next season.
