A statement released by the Chief Executive of the Leicestershire & Rutland County FA on behalf of the Leicestershire Senior League, Leicester & District League and the North Leicestershire League.

A number of discussions have taken place this season in a forum under the chairmanship of the L&RCFA Chief Executive. The forum consists of the Leicestershire Senior Football League, the Leicester & District League and the North Leicestershire Football League. Under consideration is the planning of a long term strategy for Saturday Open Age football in Leicestershire & Rutland.

The District League and the North Leicestershire League have jointly informed the forum of their intention to form a new league consisting of teams from the two leagues' Premier Divisions This integration will occur in the very near future, dialogue will continue with the Senior League as to how this will impact on progression to the Senior League and the National League System.
