WEEKLY ROUND UP.
The early season niceties went out of the window in the Redditch & South Warwickshire Combination on Sunday morning. Last seasons champions Austin Ex Apprentices punished Fairfield GLAC 7-0, with Andy Nicol scoring twice against his former club, and Stewart Hall scored a hat trick for Black Horse as they put Rubery Bridge to the sword in an 8-1 victory. Church Hill also kept up their 100% start to the season, by beating last seasons Division One Champions Translift Bendi 4-0. Hizza United got their Premier Division campaign off to a winning start with a 2-1 victory over Wychbold RBL.
In Division One, big scoring Alvechurch Sunday lead the way on goal difference, Keith Rostills brace contributing to a powerful 8- 3 winning margin against Rocklands. Aaron Brough took his seasons tally to 5 with a hat trick in SHTPs 5-0 victory over Mayfly. Kieron Waldron was twice on the score sheet as Millfield Rovers completed the trio of teams on six points from two games as they saw off the challenge of Lodge Park 4-0.
In Division Three, VKL Utd won their first ever Redditch & SWC League game in emphatic style as Steve Spence scored four and Dan Bennett grabbed a Hat-trick in a 9-1 victory over fellow league newcomers, Redditch Cross. Queens Head lead the Division after Kyle Chambers hit a hat-trick in a 4-1 victory over Frankley Athletic. Second on goal difference are Abbeydale, who won 6-0 at Rubery Legends, as Ryan Jones became another of the days hat trick heros and New Woodland Cottage and Winyates Wanderers shared six goals in the Divisions other game.
This coming Sunday sees the clash of the early frontrunners in Division One as SHTP host Alvechurch Sunday at Studley Sports & Social Club KO 10.30.
