Robertson Scaffolding taste defeat for the first time this season as Perth leave them green with envy

Perth Green took an early lead in the first five minutes when the ball fell to Liam Clark to poke home but the young Robertson team then completely dominated the remainder of the first half with the Robertson midfield not allowing the Perth Green players to settle and stifled any threat from the Perth Green midfield.

Dan Purvis and Dan Smith down the right were in particularly good form not allowing the potential threat from Peter Henderson to get into the game.

Robertsons failure to capitalise on their domination and missed chances in the first half proved costly. The second goal from a free header seemed to knock the stuffing out of the young lads of Robertsons and as The Perth Manager Stevie Hall admitted he thought if Robertsons had got to 1-1 they could have probably went on to win it. Some of the Robertson young lads showed their lack of experience in that they allowed themselves to be intimidated and easily wound up and this in the end proved costly. As Perth went on and got a late third goal.

Steve Dean the Robertson Manager who attended the game though still suffering from a serious leg infection stated In one respect I was pleased with our performance as we played the better football as their manager would admit, but the worrying aspect was that Perth ended up with what looks a comfortable victory when they did not play anywhere near their best and also went on to say, We have to look on the positive side in that we more than matched Perth Green for football and if we had just taken some of our many goal scoring chances we could so easily have got something out of the game BUT IF YOU DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHANCES YOU CAN NOT WIN GAMES, that was the difference in the two teams Perth took their chances!!!.

Perth are probably one of the most experienced teams in the League and The Robertson lads at least have proved that they are capable of being there or thereabouts in the mix come the end of the season as long as they learn from their mistakes and do not let this first defeat in the league affect them too much.
