Stifford Town win the Division League Cup

On a very wet and windy evening at Witham Town F.C. Stifford Town lifted the Division One League Cup with a 1-0 victory over Tillingham Hotspur

Tillingham had already comfortably won the Division One league title and were hot favourites to match last seasons Cup and League double

Stifford had other ideas and their work rate during the entire 90 minutes meant that Tillingham struggled to gain any control over the game

Stifford were denied a half time lead when they had a goal disallowed for handball.

However with 10 minutes remaining and the game looking like it was heading for extra time a corner from the left saw Stifford score

They held out for the remaining 10 minutes and secured the Cup
