MONDAY 8/8/22

Inspired by a Sam Waterson hat trick, MSC Express West Cheshire League Division Two leaders, Poulton Victoria romped home 5-1 against West Kirby to record their second win in succession. Further efforts from Ben Kearney and Jason Bull confirmed the result with Dan Lewis in reply for the visitors, WRITES ERNIE MCDONALD.

A goal apiece from Hakeem Munns and Harry McLeod steered Mossley Hill Ath Res. to a 2-1 decision over Bootle Res., while Sam Dickson, Paul Hanlin and Steve Megarry shared the goals, as Cheshire Lines overcame Marshalls Res. 4-0.

Early second half goals from Jack Ledsham and Ellis Byrne put Mallaby in the driving seat at Ashville Res., before the hosts rallied through Dan Kelly and Matty Maguire to secure a share of the spoils. Despite efforts from Keenan Densmore and Ryan Bazeley, Runcorn Sports suffered a 3-2 defeat at South Liverpool Res., Craig Byrne, Bobby Murphy and Adam Shelton obliging for the victors.

In Division Three, Ryan Maxwell netted for Groves, but saw his side capitulate 3-1 to a fine hat trick from Neston Nomads' Will Sara-Kelly. Honours were shared after an effort from Heswall Res.' Matty Walsh was negated by a reply from Poulton Vics Res.' Jake Smith but an Owen Hollywood strike and an own goal failed to prevent West Kirby Res. from losing 4-2 to Higher Bebington Kelma who had Andrew Noonan(2)Shaun Burgess and Ben Kierman on the mark.
Ellesmere Port Town Res.' 3-2 eclipse of Helsby Res., saw goals from Sam Moore(2) and John Skipsey. A Jordan Cunnigham double was the visitors' response.

TUESDAY 9/8/22
A South Wirral derby in Division One provided a feast of goals as Capenhurst Villa, with goals from Rowan Whelan(2)Luke Edwards, Ellis Williams,Ryan Nicoll and Charlie Fitzsimmons posted a 6-5 result over neighbours Ellesmere Port Town, who hit back through Lee Guirado(2) Tom Merrill, Sam McNeill and Dave Adams.
A James Croxton effort allied to an Ashley Elliot penalty sufficed as Rainhill Town Res. won 2-0 at South Liverpool 3rds in Division Three.

WEDNESDAY 10/8/22
Division One newcomers, Litherland Remyca Res., made it two wins on the trot when goals from Joel Hughes, Keith Hughes and Eddie Taylor secured a 3-2 success at Maghull who answered through Hooper and Hamilton .
Reigning champions, Mersey Royal, savoured a 2-1 win over Newton courtesy of efforts from Ryan Cole and Dillon Thomas. The visitors scored through Liam Smith while two goal Joe Ford netted both goals against his former club, Heswall, as Vauxhall Motors Res., celebrated a 2-1 triumph with Brendan Doherty replying for the Gayton Park outfit.
Adam Evans scored for Prescot Cables until visitors, Rainhill Town played their joker in two goal Ant Dunleavy.
Last term's Division Three champions, Sutton Ath., had Lee Ludgate and Josh McEwan on target but found Helsby too hot to handle in a Division Two clash the hosts romping home 6-1, thanks to efforts from Lee Turkington(3) Reece Dwyer(2) and Charlie Wiggins.

FRIDAY 12/8/22
Marine U23's won last season's Division Two title undefeated but have started on the wrong foot in the top flight and lost for the second time running after a solitary effort from Cal Jones clinched all three points for Mossley Hill Ath.
Bootle St. Edmunds' Mark Madden has certainly hit the ground running, his four goal salvo consigning Capenhurst Villa to a 6-1 defeat. Brad Shearwood and Lewis O'Reilly also made the scoresheet with Matty Dodd scoring Cape's consolation.

WEEKEND ACTION
Mersey Royal head Division One with three wins from as many outings, and on Saturday deprived Litherland Remyca Res., of their hundred percent record, after efforts from Liam Driscoll, Dillon Thomas, Lewy Willingham and Ryan Coles paved the way for a 4-0 victory. After conceding five goals in midweek, it was the other side of the coin for Ellesmere Port Town, who had Ben Summers(4) Tom Merrill(2) and Sam McNeill in fine form in a 7-1 rout of Prescot Cables Res., Ellis Trubshaw replying.
Eddie Hawthorne claimed both goals as second placed Rainhill Town accounted for Heswall 2-0 and although Joe Ford scored for the second time this week, Vauxhall Motors Res. were undone by a double from Maghull's Connor Rankin.
Respective marksman in Marshalls' 3-3 stalemate with Chester Nomads were Josh Lavender, Tim Davidson, Jack Edwards, Ben Coward, Hugo-BarrettoEranes and Eddie Stockton.

Saturday's Division Two action saw leaders Poulton Victoria safeguard their hundred percent record when a Ben Kearney penalty sealed Cheshire Lines' fate. Ninety minutes failed to produce a goal between Maghull Res. and Helsby and in another all square result, a goal from West Kirby's Dan Lewis was cancelled out by a reply from Marshalls Res.' Ciaran Delaney.
Leon Jones, Dan Kelly, Charlie McInnes, John Mearns and Billy Rainbow all hit the target as Ashville Res. won 5-1 against South Liverpool Res., and in a see saw contest at South Sefton Borough, the hosts turned a 2-0 deficit into a 3-2 lead before Ellis Byrne and Lewis Gouldson struck in the last six minutes to clinch a 4-3 victory for visitors, Mallaby.
Poulton Royal's 5-2 win at basement side, Bootle Res., was endorsed by efforts from Antony Evans(2)Steve Casey, Ben Hawitt and Ewan McCready.. Bootle scored via Lewis King and Cam Grant.

In Division Three, an Owen Hollywood hat trick and a double from Peter Brown were scant reward for West Kirby Res., who lost 9-5 to Helsby Res. the hosts finding the net through Wes Wright(4)Anthony Collings(2)Jaden Ditchfield, Sam Stephens and Jordan Cunningham.
Charlie Fitzsimmons was another four goal hero who anchored Capenhurst Villa Res, to a 6-0 win against South Liverpool 3rds. Matty Hickman and Steve Hickson were also on target while unbeaten leaders, Aintree Villa Res., with efforts from Dylan Lawless(2), Matty Sohl and Cam Chambers enjoyed a 4-0 result over Ellesmere Port Town Res.
Neston Nomads with goals from Cam Meadows and Dec Roberts , finished 2-2 with Runcorn Sports Res. who answered through Lewis Thompson and John McDonald, and it was celebration time for Rainhill Town Res., Ben Coulthard and Dan Johnson applying the finishing touches in Saturday’s 2-0 eclipse of Groves.
Elsewhere, Jamie Edge(2) and Cam Clark scored in setting Chester Nomads Res. up for a 3-1 triumph over Heswall Res. Jack Gibson was Heswall's scorer.

Two fixtures came under starters orders in the Youth Division, both producing 3-1 wins for the home sides. Asher Duncan, Jonathan Liddle and Chris Hapi-Fankam were Mossley Hill Ath.'s marksmen against BRNESC while South Liverpool's hot-shots against City of Liverpool were Kian Skinley, Jack Colburn and Dylan Crawford.
