Many thanks to Network Rail for once again sponsoring the USFL this season, this allowed the league to offset costs and maintain reasonable entry fees to encourage maximum participation. The results of this meant that USFL had a good diversity of entrants to its competitions this season with establishment teams from the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Army, Police (Cup Only) and Network Rail.
RN FA / USFL 6s winners HM Naval Base Portsmouth
Season 2012/13 kicked off when the USFL joined forces with the RNFA and ran a joint 6s tournament to christen the new 3G pitch at HMS TEMERAIRE. HM Naval Base Portsmouth took the trophy beating Thorney Station 1 0 in a closely fought final.
The League Champions 2012/13 HM Naval Base Portsmouth
The League was split into two pools and the championship was decided by a playoff featuring the top two teams from each pool.
The playoff semi finals saw HM Naval Base Portsmouth beating HERON and HMS COLLINGWOOD beat HMS SULTAN.
The Championship Playoff final saw HM Naval Base Portsmouth beat HMS COLLINGWOOD 1 - 0 After Extra Time in a closely fought final to take this season's USFL league championship title
USFL Charity Cup Winners HMS HERON
The Charity cup was severely affected by the weather and operational commitments and even the final venue had to be moved from Victory Stadium to HMS HERON due to TEMERAIRE being unplayable. HMS HERON took the cup beating 17 Port & Maritime 3 2 in a closely fought final. Man of the match was HERON's no 9 AET Stevey Mason who worked hard throughout closing down the 17 Port & Maritime Regiments defence giving them no time to dwell on the ball.
The USFL League Cup winners HMS Sultan
The league cup ran smoothly with all games completed. A very tight final played on a cold December evening saw HMS Sultan beat Thorney Station 4 - 3 on penalties after the game finished 3 3 After Extra Time
