Division One

Silchester Village march on with another impressive win, this week disposing of Overton United A with a 9-2 win on The Green. Gavin Alexander has taken over a manager of Overton this season. He is usually a goalkeeper, formerly with Winklebury Wizards; however, of this game he opted to play Brodie Good in between the sticks and play on the field. Whether he would have done any better than Brodie is debatable, but the score line shows Silchester were far superior. Kye Theodore opened the scoring after three minutes from Jason Graham cross and then in eighth minute Joe Tallentire made it two and in the 11th minute a diving header from Graham put them three goals ahead. It was an outstanding scissors kick from Luke Mclean that added another for Silchester before the Overton reply. Overton started the game with ten men, but Paul Smith pulled a goal back for them from a penalty and then in the 37th a free kick from Smith was headed on by Harrison Edwards for Alexander to make it 4-2.. Even back to eleven in the second half Overton could not hold out and Graham made it 5-2 and Theodore added two more to complete his hat trick.

Peter White came on as substitute and scored the final two goals, although Good did pull off a couple of fine saves for United.

Hook are not to be outgunned by the current leaders and won 9-2 against a Tadley Calleva A side fielding plenty of youngsters, but Manager Bradley Nash was not despondent and said after this heavy defeat, they will improve. Hook started very strongly and went 4-0 up in the opening twelve minutes. Dan Alliston opened the scoring in the 5th minute and two quickly followed from Dan Mauridian and the fourth from Morgan Davies. Dan Mellors added another before Tadley made it 5-1 at half time through Simon Yelland. Davies played Mauridian through for his hat trick before Lyndon Tyson put away a penalty for Tadley’s second. Mellors then scored twice to complete his hat trick before Mauridian made it nine from a penalty after Mellors had been brought down.

Herriard Sports are still suffering injury problems and the latest two are their main goal scorers Chris Dobbie and Sam Weber. They travelled to AFC Aldermaston Reserves and returned with a 3-1 defeat, not too bad a result as they went down to ten men when they lost Stuart Minton, taken off injured. They fell behind in the 5th minute when Lucas De Silver chipped keeper Brian Boyle from 30 yard out. Boyle last played for the club five years ago and did quite well but was beaten in the 34th minute by. Kalam Patrick who made it 2-0. In the 70th minute Martin Miller was brought down by Kevin Hill and Jason Minton took the spot kick and scored. Martin Miles was having his first game for Herriard and played well and Richard Ellis almost equalised, but his finishing shot went just wide. Stuart Archibald has recently signed for Herriard and could be a useful addition with their injury problems. It was Aldermaston who made sure of the points with their third three minute from time when Matt Wilkins found Ahmed Jusufi with a deep cross and he his glancing headed beat the helpless Boyle.

Twentyten had a late 4-3 win against AFC Berg, for with four minutes left to play they were trailing 3-2. They took the lead after ten minutes when Joe Osborne netted following a Dan Hancock cross. Berg were gifted an equaliser when the Twentyten keeper Darren Gary rushed out to clear, missed the ball completely and Kieran Alleyne helped himself. It remained level until Osborne found Karl Hanks with a decent ball and he made no mistake with the opportunity. A back pass to keeper Gary went wrong and Berg helped them again with a tap in for Darren Rowe to make it 2-2. In the 37th minute a free kick taken by Lee Neal was picked up by Louis Vickery and allowed Berg to nose in front and then came the dramatic ending. It was in the 86th minute when Tom Hanks found the top corner with his free kick and then came the winner. It was Hanks again, this time from his corner kick that found substitute Ryan Lupton who put away the chance to seal maximum points.

Division Two
The Division Two leaders Overton United B saw off AFC Aldermaston A with a 4-2 win at Berrydown. The visitors held out until the 44th minute, then Overton were awarded a penalty when Andy Tottman was fouled, and keeper Mindy Kuodys made no mistake from the spot kick Bailey Roffey hit the post and Andy

Bullock followed up to net the rebound and it was Roffey who played Kevin Beaumont through for a three-goal lead, with a 25-yard shot. It then became 1-0 when Danny Smith lobbed a good ball forward for Bullock to round his man and beat the keeper. Aldermaston then made a comeback with two late goals from Vinny Kennedy and Jordon Clear.

Oakridge managed to pick up maximum points against North Warnborough with a 3-2 win. They took a 25th minute lead when Alex Waterston headed home a corner by Sam Mosdell. After mopping up some early attacks from Borough, they extended their lead when Chris Andrews beat two men and crossed for substitute Jake Pratchett to head them into a two-goal advantage. It became 2-2 when Liam Cook scored from a penalty and then Khalil Bentaleb after Cook headed on a corner by Banica Oprea. Chances fell to both sides before the winner came five minutes from time. It was a free kick, taken by Alex Spencer, another player brought one, who took a free kick outside the box and it proved too good for keeper Reece Emery.

Newcomers Renegades remain unbeaten and retained second place after beating Chineham 3-1. George Lagden gave them the lead after just five minutes after good play by Matty Baker and Ricky Smith. It was Lagden again in the 38th when he headed home after a cross from Ashley Burchett was headed on by Smith.

Renegades keeper Maurice Walpole then punched a corner into his own net to bring Chineham back in the game and Shane West had two good chances to put them on level terms, both wasted, and it was Danny Costan who came up with a third, a header into the top corner following a corner by Ian Ryan. Tim Manson forced a tip over the bar by the keeper

Basingstoke Athletics defeated Twentyten Reserves 4-2 after sweeping into a four-goal lead. Steve McDonald, a header after ten minutes, then Kieran Challis netted from a penalty and Keyron Hylton made it 3-0 by half time. McDonald scored his second two minutes after the break and then came the brief come back. Stephen Bean and Jordon Wainwright after a good run down the left. Athletic were awarded another penalty, but this time he hit the post.
