Pendlebury's net fails to lift Saints.

In the highest incident of quality play in the game, Basingstoke Saints took an early lead against Oakley on Sunday, writes Tony Spencer. Walter Bendoro crossed the ball from the wing for Anthony Pendlebury to bury it into the back of the net with a fine finish. Oakley replied with a penalty kick to level the scores before half-time. After the interval Omar Febal restored Saints' narrow lead but two second half goals from Oakley snatched the points by 2-3. Oakley's strikes from Sami Eldori, Danny Costa and Charn Congdon.

Republic of Chineham started their campaign on the wrong side of a 2-3 home defeat against Lamb Inn. Republic took an early lead with a strike by Joe Lawler. This was soon cancelled out by Chris Smalley for Lamb Inn, who then took the lead through Dan Dedman's header into the corner of the net from a cross from Ashley Elward cross. Republic equalised through Matthew Bennett but Chris Smalley's second gave Lamb Inn maximum points from a tight match, rewarded with top spot in the league.

Kaiser Wessex were awarded a penalty for handball after just 10 minutes of their game away at Dayers Fine Foods. Ed Hall tapped the spot kick home for the hosts. Halfway through the first half Nick Brook equalised from a corner kick. After the interval, Alex Brown sewed up the points for Dayers though, with two strikes, one a lob and the other a hopeful shot, both from distance. The final score 3-1 to Dayers.

Soldiers Return set out their store early on at Tron, with Ellis Hauman opening the scoring with a wickedly deflected shot after about 15 minutes. Andy Butler and Frederick Cloke fired two more before half-time to give the unbeaten visitors a comfortable 0-3 cushion. After the restart, Cloke scored his second, 0-4. A late penalty by Chris Morris presented Tron with at least a consolation goal, but not enough to prevent them consigned to the foot of the table after two defeats.

In Division 2 Oakley Reserves were beaten 0-3 by Hampshire Irons. Goals supplied curtesy of Rob Mead, from the penalty spot, and a brace from Mike Templeton, both of them assisted by Chris Arnold.

Chineham saw off RAF Odiham Blades with the only goal of the game from James Hanley. Blades sink to the foot of the table after two defeats.

New Inn were hammered 0-6 by UWS, the visitors wrapping up their first points of the campaign with three goals in each half.

Two of the promoted sides, North Warnborough Two as runners-up and champions FC Everest met in their new division, both having won their opening games. This tussle ended in a 1-3 away triumph for FC Everest. The visitors find themselves the only unbeaten side in the division after just two matches.

In Division 3, Paul Adams scored all three goals for Eastrop Eagles to ensure a win away at Chineham Athletic. The Eagles have a positive goal difference of 11, the highest so far, and having conceded only one goal, appear to have the tightest defence in all three divisions.

A Michael Abbott brace, an own goal and singles from Josh Matthews and Jason Brown wasn't quite good enough for Basing United, who went down 5-6 to Chineham Reserves. The visitors ensured victory with a Joe Marsh hat-trick, Jimmy Buckland brace and Tyler Andrews' single.

Soldiers Return Reserves polished off DG Athletic 4-0, burying three goals in the first half. After an early scare from the Down Grange side, Powell Terbot got the first of his pair from a spot kick after just five minutes. From that point the points looked secured. Jay Wild increased the lead before Terbot's chip sent the home side into the half-time break with a comfortable cushion. Arrick Deszierda, with a strong header in the box from six yards out, giving the home side a comfortable win by the close.

Team FC enjoyed a romping 8-2 victory over AFC Golden Lion. Mickey Thomas and Josh Tomty got one goal each, Dan Cale two and Mark Frost four. AFC Golden Lion's consolations from James Lowe and Burt.

Team have scored the most goals so far, while Eastrop Eagles have conceded the least. The two go head to head next week, which should be interesting.
