Soldiers remained competitive but a breakaway goal ten minutes from the end by Lewis Harris, ensured Soldiers' first defeat of the season, 0-2. Republic of Chineham are now unbeaten in three games.
The South View team, apparently, were up all night celebrating a birthday party, and were half asleep in the first half. By the break their goal difference was suffering from a sizeable deficit, with Basingstoke Saints five goals up without reply. South View played a lot better in the second half, restricting the visitors to a single additional goal. Their keeper Sean O'Brien ventured upfield for a corner right at the death and scored with a volley, the final score 1-6. Basingstoke Saints put in a great team performance, really played well, having promised a similar positive result for the last few games.
