Well, that’s the end of another month in the Cheshire Football League and it’s been an eventful month across all five divisions. We’ve seen plenty of action from all 66 clubs across the five CFL leagues. There have been plenty of goals, over a hundred scored in the top three divisions alone this month.
The big winners this month in the Premier Division appear to be Poynton and Whaley Bridge, the two Stockport-based clubs have been able to manoeuvre their way to the top four after starting the month sat in a very crowded mid-table. Warrington Town Reserves finish the month at the summit of League One after moving up from sixth place in the last four weeks.
AFC Denton remain stuck to the bottom of League Two as they are still yet to pick up any points in the league, the newly-formed side are really struggling at the foot of the division.
Top scorers across all five divisions are Poynton’s Rick Tindall and Pilkington’s Matthew Taylor, who both have 12 league goals to their name. The latter has a slightly stronger Goals-To-Games ratio, scoring 1.71 goals per game, compared to Tindall’s 1.5 goals per game.
Of all the teams in the Cheshire Football League, Eagle Sports currently top the tally for yellow cards, with 20, a number that includes three second-yellow cards. Denton Town and Whaley Bridge both share the top spot for most straight red cards, with three apiece.
A large number of players currently top the list of most appearances thus far this season with, unsurprisingly, most of them being goalkeepers.
There are four players who all share the honour of most used substitutes so far this campaign, Oliver MacBride of FC St. Helens, Samuel Owen of Cheadle Town Reserves, Robert Spilsbury of Knutsford and Ioannis Stouppis of Altrincham Reserves. The latter two have made more overall appearances with nine in total.
