The Basingstoke Saturday Football League has been reduced to just two divisions.
The Basingstoke Saturday Football League has been reduced to just two divisions following withdrawals and so leaving it with just 19 teams. It was decided at the recent AGM the Premier Division will be suspended for next season and there will be nine teams in Division One and ten in division Two.
The withdrawals of Basingstoke Royals, the Premier Division Champions and Bramley United, now moved over into the Sunday League, Rising Sun DC not being accepted and Welly Old Boys( renamed GTI Group, relegated, meant just three clubs remained, therefore it was not feasible to keep the Premier Division running. Other clubs pulling out were North Warnborough 2014, Preston Candover and Sherborne St John Reserves. There was just one new club applied Tron FC. The formation is as Follows.

The Saturday Sportsmanship award was won by Welly Old Boys and the Top Linemans award went to Basingstoke Labour Club. Chineham FC won both the Sportsmanship and Linesman Awards in the Sunday League
Graham Jenkins, the Welly Old Boys secretary received a Special award from the League Chairman Barrie Hiscock for his exceptional service to the league in keeping the club going last season. Christian Cordery, the long serving Basingstoke Labour Club FC Secretary was rewarded by the Hampshire FA following 25 years service to the game, as was Jim Head for his services to Basingstoke Town Colts and North Warnborough. Martin Cole received the North Hants FA 21 years Services to Football award.
The Gerald Merritt award for Step7 referee making most progress, was presented to Gary Long
Election of Officers. All were re-Elected, the new Fixture Secretary for the Saturday League following the shock death of Arthur Leaver, is Iain Peach, the former DJS Telecoms secretary.
The Saturday Season will start on 6th September and Sunday League commence on 7th September. There will be a two week break at Christmas for both sections.
