30 referees for 02/11/2024
For the first time this season we have 30 referees on BPC and B&D games, up from only 18 in September.
Let's collectively ensure they enjoy their games and return next Saturday, and if we get 5 more referees to return then we can cover all games next week!
Please remember referees serve as the guardians of fair play on the football pitch. Their decisions, often made in split seconds, contribute to the overall integrity of the game. Respecting the referee is not just an obligation; it is a recognition of their crucial role in upholding the rules and ensuring a level playing field for both teams.
Respecting the referee is a fundamental aspect of sportsmanship. It goes beyond the final score, reflecting the character and values of players, coaches, and fans. A respectful attitude towards the referee sets a positive example for everyone involved, creating an atmosphere where the love of the game prevails over individual outcomes.
Respecting the referee is an acknowledgement of their leadership on the field. Players and coaches alike must recognise the authority vested in the referee to make decisions. This respect for the decision-making process enhances the overall flow of the game and contributes to a positive environment for everyone involved.
Please treat the referees with Respect, pay them early or promptly and if you can offer them some hospitality.
Thank you,
B&D League Committee
