Charter Standard League

The Herefordshire Girls League has been awarded the FA Charter Standard League Award which recognises that the league is committed to working towards raising standards and addressing poor behaviour within the league.

The league is now encouraging member clubs to gain Charter Standard Club status as part of the Charter Standard League criteria of which 87% of teams have already achieved the award.

Each season, the league will review what they do well, what they want to do better and identify how they can improve. Through their football development plan, they are also committed to developing better players and to investing in the workforce.

The league has been working on achieveing the Charter Standard Criteria for 12 months and has made several changes to the set-up of the league whcih has proved a positive step to help achieve the award.

Gary Orman, Charter Standard League Co-ordinator for the Girls League has worked hard wth support from the HFA to ensure that all Clubs are aware of their responsibilities, ensuring that coaches and volunteers have access to training and CPD opportunities and also implementing and updating Clubs on the FA Respect Campaign.

The presentation of the Charter Standard League Award was made to the League Management Committee at the 2010 Cup Finals held at Edgar Street, by Chairman of the Herefordshire FA, Mr Bill Shorten.
