2nd Round of Trinity Trophy plus Sheffield & Hallamshire County Cup
7 Ties in the Trinity Trophy Competition plus FC Tickhill in the 2nd Round of the Sheffield & Hallamshire County Sunday Cup meant there was only 2 League games played on Sunday, both in the 3rd Division. Despite an heroic effort FC Tickhill just lost out in the Sheffield & Hallamshire County Sunday Cup by 3 goals to 2, F C Tickhill will feel they were so close to a victory their efforts deserved but it was just not meant to be.
In Division 3 Kings Arms Haxey Reserves had their best result and performance of the season when they defeated the high flying Babworth Rovers Blue by 2 goals to 1, a result that could just kick start Kings Arms season. Babworth Rovers Yellow fared a lot better away to Ship Inn Lions winning by an impressive 5 goals to nil to very much move into contention in the 3rd Division
No real surprises in the Trinity Trophy with perhaps the result of the Round coming at Morton where Kings Arms Clarborough BAFC were too strong for an Horse & Jockey team that was always second best to the Kings Arms Clarborough who have a very good squad of players and are likely to give any team in the Competition a very tough match. A very tight contest between Hilltop Raptors and Rose & Crown went right down to the final whistle and a very much inform Rose & Crown just came out the better by 3 goals to 2 a scoreline that could so easily have gone the other way, both teams can be proud of their endeavours. Friendship FC were always likely to be far too strong for a Bridon AFC team that tried hard but were well beaten in the end by 7 goals to 1, even without some of their major players Friendship are a formidable team. Friendship FC Reserves made it a double on the day with an expected 6 goals to nil win over a gallant Otter FC who always try their best, again the strength of the Friendship FC Reserves squad is quite formidable. AFC Moorgate showed no mercy to Bridon AFC Reserves scoring 9 goals without reply to enhance the difference in Division 1 teams and Division 3 teams. Walkeringham FC gave it a very good go against Kings Arms Haxey FC before just losing out by 4 goals to 3 the game as close as the score suggests, once again praise for both teams in an excellent Cup-Tie. Gringley Celtics pushed The White Lion FC hard before losing out by 4 goals to 2, the result was always close before White Lion FC pulled away in the end to reach the quarter finals of the competition.
