So far this season two sides have dominated proceedings in NAPIT ONE Killamarsh Juniors Athletic and Hasland, the latter of course the defending champions. However on Sunday AFC Whitecotes caused an upset by beating Hasland whilst Athletic were held to a draw by Eckington Boys. Whitecotes victory was hard earned as you would expect coming against a talented Hasland outfit for whom Lee Clay and James Senior both scored, however their efforts proved to be in vain as two goals from Lytham and one from Mason won it for Whitecotes. Killamarsh and Eckington’s game was a six goal thriller with Holmes scoring twice for Killamarsh, Stanley once with Wilson, Bailey and Garnett hitting the Eckington goals. Despite the set- backs Killamarsh stay top of the table, two points above Hasland, who have played three games less with Whitecotes third five points further back. At the foot of the table Brampton Rovers are still winless following their 4-3 defeat to Renishaw MW whilst the divisions other game between Hepthorne Lane and Clowne Wanderers ended goal-less.

In NAPIT TWO leaders New Whitt were not involved as they were in cup action and second placed Barrow Hill MC took advantage moved to within three points of them by beating Hollingwood 4-1, Ryan Whittaker scoring twice, Mark Vine and Chris cave once. Grassmoor Sports remain third, Dean Walters Ash Walters and an own goal earning them a close 3-2 win at Tibshelf Town for whom Matt Waldram scored twice. At Wingerworth Barley Mow Nathan Young scored two early goals for visitors Ashover Vale who were well on top for the first forty-five minutes but despite creating several good goal scoring opportunities in the second half Barley Mow failed to find the target. FC Brimington followed up last week’s excellent win over New Whitt by beating Silver Birches 2-0.

It rained goals in THREE seven days earlier and the deluge continued un-a baited as leaders AFC Bolsover crushed Steelmelters Arms Killamarsh 16-1 with Josh Parfitt scoring five goals to take his season’s total to 21. Ashley Scattergood, Olli Henry and J Rushby all scored twice with goals from Ryan Capuano, Chris Capuano, James Taylor, Joe Seredynski and J Shearan completing the rout. Beechers Brook didn’t quite hit the heights of Bolsover but they did manage to put seven past Matlock Town Wanderers who scored three goals of their own. The match-winners for Beechers were Jak Swindell and Daniel Bingham who both scored twice, Jake Bexton, Jason Tyler and Ryan Crookes. Dronfield Woodhouse visited Brickmakers and cemented their place in the promotion race by beating them 5-1 thanks to goals from Sharpe two, Austin, Loftus and Crossland one apiece. The most closely contested game in this division was at Inkersall Green where Hopflower Athletic just edged out Creswell Black Diamond 3-2, Dan Hutchinson, Ben Whittaker and Alex Plumtree with the winning goals.

Not all the big scores came in THREE as in NAPIT FOUR Woodside Inn hammered New Whitt B 10-0, Ben Bower top scoring with three goals, Whitford Walsh and Meadley adding two each, Lynam one. Dronfield Miners hit the top, beating Spartans 5-1, moving above Pilsley who drew 0-0 with Harleys Scarlets. Scoring in Miners victory were Olli Wood who hit a hat trick, Adam Hodgson and Adam Hopwood, Steelmelters were also winners, goals from Lewis McGuiness and Jack Yeomans beating Lowgates Sports.

Both the team and individual performances of the day in FIVE came in the game between Brampton Brewery and Spital. Not only did the brewers win 8-1 but amazingly Ryan Hardman, who had scored fourteen goals in his previous nine starts, scored seven times. North Wingfield MW top the division after beating Palterton Sporting Club 2-1 thanks to a goal each from David Gibson and Aaron Large. Hasland Community, 3-1 winners at Brimington Utd are second, Greg Neath, Dan Broderick and Dan Buxton’s goals seeing off Utd. Elsewhere Old Whittington MW beat Newbold Sports 4-1, Smith scoring twice, Clarke and Duffy once.

In SIX Furnace Hill Hurricanes and Renishaw MW Reserves shared nine goals with the former coming out on top, just, winning 5-4. The Hurricane’s scorers were Stephen Jones, Jamie Ritchie with two each and Tim Jarvis with goal number five. Dronfield Wanderers and Fidlers Rest similarly shared eight goals and this time the points after drawing 4-4. Norris scored three for Wanderers as did Palmer for Fidlers.

It was a big day in SEVEN as the leaders Duckmanton Community took on second placed Brampton Rovers Reserves. The game, as expected was a close run thing with the honours eventually going to Rovers who won 3-2 to move level on points with Duckmanton, Sidall twice and Hadfield scoring the winning goals. Kirkwood and Sambrook scored the winning goals for Britannia Tupton in the divisions other game against Grassmoor Sports Reserves for whom Lewin scored.

There were also several cup games taking place with New Whitt beating Woodside 2-1 in the Dey and Co Alma Cup, Holmehall 1ST beating AFC North Wingfield 5-4 0n penalties, Newbold beating Chesterfield Arms 2-1 and Gate Inn North Wingfield winning 4-3 at Red Lion Whitt Moor in the Chatsworth Cup, Crown Killamarsh winning 7-6 against Miners and Diners, Hady Villa beating Hasland WMC 5-1 and Glapwell Gladiators overcoming Spartans 2NDS in the Hutson.
The pick of the above was the amazing tie between Crown Killamarsh and Miners and Diners in which Stead scored twice, Lester, Page, Whitehead, Beety and Holmes finding the net for the winners, Saville, Palfreyman with two, Young and Fullwood for the losers. In Glapwell Gladiators win over Spartans Dave Canning scored four of his clubs five goals.
